So Jyothi(my better half whom I call Jyo) & me decided come whatever may we should step out of the house on the 4th of Feb. Due to the winter & freezing cold, kids were spending too much time on the Xbox, laptops & smartphones. We decided to visit Geneva along the Finger Lakes wine region.
As D-day arrived soon, we got up a little earlier than usual and got ready. Jyo fixed us a yummy pancake/maple syrup breakfast and we began our trip at 10 am. We reached Geneva in 1 and 1/2 hour along NY-414. For those not familiar with US roads, NY-414 is north south state highway. I was expecting traffic but due to the freezing cold roads were mostly empty. We roamed around downtown and later parked near the City Center. Kids were hungry, so we decided to have food at a Chinese take-out Main Moon. We ordered some soup, rice & noodles mainly having chicken. None of us liked the food much, but we had to fill our stomach, so we quietly ate the food. Post lunch we decided to take a walk on the famous Geneva lake front. Rahul gave it a miss & sat in the car snap chatting with his school mates. We three(Syna, Jyo & me...SyJyoPro) took a small walk, clicked some photos and returned back quickly as it was freezing cold.
It was off-season in the Finger Lakes wine region but since we were there decided to give a visit to one of the Winery Seneca Shore (www.SenecaWine.com). I indulged in a bit of wine-tasting 2 chardonnay whites, 2 dry reds & a port wine. We picked up couple of bottles of the dry reds.
On our return had a piss break at Dandy's MiniMart. We bought wafers and chocolates to keep energy levels high until we reach home. Kids were tired especially Syna down with fever, cold & flu.
Once we dropped the babies back to the apartment, Jyo and me decided to go on a surprise Date to Heavenly Cup Cafe. We struck to our usual Latte & Cappuccino. We talked about the wonderful time together as a family in this trip to Geneva. We were sad Syna was not well but it was still better than her sitting at home watching TV or playing games on the laptop. We made our shopping To-Do list & post the Date decided to get going on items in that list. In all it was a great day spent with family...Cheers to hitting the highway or roads...#Geneva...#NY...#FamilyReunion...#TRAVEL.
